Leo Li is an associate in Dechert’s Corporate & Securities practice group. He focuses his practice on corporate matters and is involved in corporate finance transactions including cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and initial public offerings. Mr. Li’s clients include SOEs, sovereign wealth funds, tech companies and manufacturing companies. 

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Li was an associate at another international law firm based in Hong Kong. 

  • 20 underwriters (including China Galaxy International Securities (Hong Kong) Co., Limited as the sole sponsor, a global coordinator, a joint bookrunner and a joint lead manager) on the HK$1.521 billion initial public offering and listing of the shares of Huijing Holdings Company Limited on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. 
  • Guotai Junan Capital Limited and other underwriters in the HK$1.93 billion global offering, initial public offering and listing of China Risun Group Limited on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. 
  • A Chinese state-owned enterprise in its acquisition of a minority stake in a global energy and commodity group, advising on and completing the necessary reorganisation, funding, as well as attainment of relevant regulatory approvals.
  • A sovereign wealth fund in the potential acquisition of a travel agency business spread across 11 jurisdictions, advising on the structuring and foreign ownership issues of the transaction.
  • A leading ceiling/wall tiles manufacturer in its internal restructuring.
  • A life and accidental insurance data software company in its contractual joint venture with a leading Asian insurer regarding the licencing of its insurance optimisation data and systems, and treatment of accreted IP rights.
  • A client regarding a proposed adverse direction from the Registrar of Companies, which resulted in successfully resisting the direction.
