Hassan Mahassni focuses his practice on a wide range of domestic and international corporate, commercial and financial transactions with a particular focus on joint ventures, M&A, capital markets, contractors’ law, banking and Islamic finance.

Mr. Mahassni advises on transactions for a diverse group of Saudi Arabian clients including construction contractors, industrial, oil and petrochemical companies; banks, financial institutions and major publicly-traded companies. Mr. Mahassni has extensive experience advising contractors, developers and lenders on all legal aspects of engineering and construction contracts pertaining to the development of limited-recourse project financing. Within the corporate space, Mr. Mahassni has formed multiple Saudi companies including limited liability companies, general partnerships and joint stock companies. Additionally, he has counseled numerous Saudi Arabian financial institutions in connection with financial products and services and has long been involved in the structuring, development, documentation and negotiation of Islamic finance transactions and the use of Islamic finance techniques in the provision of financial services products.

Mr. Mahassni also regularly advises African, American, Asian and European companies in connection with their investments in Saudi Arabia. Such investments usually take the form of companies licensed pursuant to the Foreign Investment Law. Mr. Mahassni has represented clients before all Saudi Courts of all grades and jurisdictions on innumerable legal issues such as breach of contract, agency, labor, real property, negotiable instruments and trademarks.
