Mr. Magargee is a retired partner, having been an associate and partner in the firm, and most recently of counsel, to the firm.

He is the former chair of the firm's employee benefits and executive compensation group, having represented corporations in developing unique broad-based and targeted benefit and compensation arrangements for their executives and other employees. He also has assisted in the benefits and compensation aspects of mergers and acquisitions and has represented clients in contested matters before the IRS, DOL and PBGC.

Mr. Magargee advised on qualified pension plans, profit sharing and stock bonus plans, compensation and plan arrangements of not-for-profit organizations, government plans, ESOPs, executive non- qualified deferred compensation, stock-related arrangements, employee welfare benefit plans, and federal, state and local employment-related tax problems.

He for many years was responsible both for the firm's benefit programs for employees and partners, including the plan investment aspects, and for the firm's representation, on a pro bono basis, of United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.

Mr. Magargee is a Fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel and is listed in "The Best Lawyers in America."

He is a co-author of chapters on employee benefits in mergers and acquisitions, labor law, and bankruptcy in "ERISA: A Comprehensive Guide," John Wiley & Sons (1991). He has been a speaker at various programs sponsored by the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Institute, and the Philadelphia Bar Association.
