Jeff Norton, a partner in Dechert’s global finance practice, focuses on public and private finance matters, with particular emphasis on domestic and cross-border corporate and acquisition financing including leveraged credits and high yield bonds. His experience includes advising financial institutions, financial sponsors, private credit funds and corporates on a variety of finance matters in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America. He has significant experience advising on syndicated credits, direct lending, fund financing, Term Loan B credits, bridge financings, high yield note issuances, unitranche facilities, first and second lien financings, asset based lending, distressed debt, liability management transactions and restructurings. 

Mr. Norton has been consistently recognized among the leading banking and finance lawyers in the U.S. by Chambers USA and Chambers Global. In the 2018 edition of Chambers Global, clients noted that he is “a master of the distressed debt covenants who is able to draft them in a way that maximises their flexibility,” and Chambers USA notes that Jeff is experienced in assisting lender and borrower clients in a wide spectrum of domestic and international transactions with one source indicating that he is “very practical and finds ways to get the transaction over the finish line.”

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Norton served as head of the U.S. banking practice and as managing partner for the U.S. at Linklaters. His previous experience includes serving as head of banking at O’Melveny & Myers.
