Aaron Pearson, Ph.D., focuses on drafting and prosecution of domestic and international patent applications, freedom-to-operate and invalidity opinions, post-grant proceedings including inter partes review, and patentability and infringement analyses. He specializes in the areas of synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and drug discovery.

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Pearson was a patent agent at two AmLaw 100 firms. He earned a doctoral degree in organic chemistry at Colorado State University in the lab of Robert M. Williams, where his research focused on the total synthesis of the neurotoxin zetekitoxin AB and related saxitoxin alkaloids. In addition, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in chemical biology at The Scripps Research Institute in the lab of Peter G. Schultz, where he focused on protein engineering, antibody-drug conjugates and drug discovery. Mr. Pearson has published manuscripts in Science, Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), Tetrahedron and Molecular Therapy.
