Rachel Rosenberg focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on products liability and mass torts matters. Ms. Rosenberg has represented clients from across a number of industries, including pharmaceutical, cosmetics, asset management, banking, entertainment, legal, and private equity. Her representative matters include cases in state and federal court. She has extensive experience in every stage of litigation, including discovery and case workup, motions practice, expert witnesses, Daubert briefing, trial preparation, and negotiations.
Ms. Rosenberg has served as national counsel on some of the largest multi-district litigations in the United States, including Purdue Pharma in lawsuits in a federal MDL and in state courts across the country concerning its prescription opioid pain medications, including OxyContin. Ms. Rosenberg also serves as national counsel for an American multinational manufacturer in all lawsuits that have been filed across the country alleging that plaintiffs developed personal injuries such as mesothelioma from the use of certain consumer products that allegedly were contaminated with asbestos.
Ms. Rosenberg also maintains an active pro bono practice by representing individuals facing violations of their civil rights, organizations advocating for policy change, and children in the child welfare system. Ms. Rosenberg is also the co-chair of the Community Lawyering Clinics pro bono practice group at Dechert. The group partners with community legal services organizations to staff legal clinics in Philadelphia to provide representation or advice related to homelessness, immigration, custody and family law, public benefits, elder care and civil litigation. Ms. Rosenberg also sits on the Firm’s Pro Bono Committee.
In recognition of her pro bono work representing an environmental group in an appeal of a state agency’s approval of a natural gas pipeline through a conservation area, Ms. Rosenberg received Dechert’s 2017 Samuel E. Klein Pro Bono Award.
Ms. Rosenberg was a Dechert summer associate in 2015.
