Julia Martín Torres focuses her practice on international arbitration, in both investment treaty and commercial matters. Ms. Martín Torres has experience in the construction, aviation, energy and chemical sectors. She has also advised on proceedings under the ICC, ICSID and UNCITRAL rules.

Ms. Martín Torres joined Dechert as a law clerk in 2016, and previously interned at two other international law firms in Paris and London. 

  • A Spanish construction group in a judicial expertise and an ad hoc arbitration against one of the largest construction companies in France following the termination
    of two subcontracting agreements for the construction of the largest hospital complex in France.
  • A Latin American State in a PCA-UNCITRAL investment arbitration initiated by a foreign mining company.
  • A major Spanish construction company in an ICSID arbitration against a Latin American State arising out of the execution of a concession contract for the construction of a highway.
  • An Eastern European State in a PCA-UNCITRAL arbitration initiated by a European national in the tourism and aviation sectors.
  • A South American Autonomous Municipal Government in an ICC arbitration commenced by a Spanish Consortium related to the construction of a tramway line.
