Chris Walters focuses his practice on corporate and securities matters.

Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Walters served as an associate in the corporate, M&A and private equity practice of another international law firm. He also worked as a solicitor in a Scotland-based law firm.

  • Hass Petroleum Group, a leading oil marketing company in Africa, on its sale of a strategic stake in the company to Oman Trading International, a global trading company that specializes in energy products.
  • The Seller in relation to the sale of the entire issued share capital of COREX UK Limited, a provider of analytical services for the oil and gas industry, to Premier Oilfield Laboratories, LLC.
  • A holding company of insurance and health insurance, leasing and car rentals, new car sales and car repairs and financial services and investment intermediation businesses, in connection with the establishment of its €200 million Euro Medium Term Note Programme.
  • Construction Products Holding Company (CPC), part of the Saudi Binladin Group, in connection with the acquisition by International Financial Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, of a 20% equity stake in Sphinx Glass, an Egypt-based subsidiary of CPC focused on glass manufacturing.
  • A Hong Kong based petroleum company in relation to its potential acquisition of a 45 per cent interest in an oil storage terminal facility in the GCC region.
  • A Nigerian oil and gas company in relation to a US$320 million debt and equity investment.
  • A private oil and gas exploration company in relation to the disposition of upstream oil and gas interests in central Africa.
  • A major UK insurance business on its acquisition of an off-shore property holding company for approximately £26 million.
  • An administration and support services company on its acquisition of share dealing services business from an American headquartered multinational financial services company.
  • A mid-market private equity firm on its £69 million buyout of a company that provides high performance video equipment to the oil and gas industry.
  • The private investment office of a high net worth individual on a number of unquoted investments.
  • A private investment company on its disposal of a drinks distributor to a trade purchaser.
  • A Scottish investment firm on a number of portfolio investments, and follow on investment rounds, in small innovative companies with high growth potential.
