Dechert Advises Safran Corporate Ventures and STAR Capital on Investment in SkyFive

Dechert LLP advised Safran Corporate Ventures together with STAR Capital, a European private equity fund manager, on their investment in SkyFive AG, a leading provider of high-speed broadband In-Flight Connectivity (IFC) services, as part of the company’s Series A investment round.
Safran Corporate Ventures is the venture capital arm of Safran, an international high-technology group, operating in the aviation (propulsion, equipment and interiors), defense and space markets. SkyFive with its seat on the AIRBUS Campus in Taufkirchen/Munich provides true broadband connectivity services and technology to airlines and other aircraft operators in key aviation markets worldwide, based on its patented Air-To-Ground (A2G) solution that leverages standard mobile network components. The investment marks Safran Corporate Ventures' first investment in Germany.
The Munich-Paris based Dechert team advising Safran Corporate Ventures and STAR Capital included corporate partner Giovanni Russo, corporate associate Florian Leitsbach, and IP associate Louis de Chezelles.
