Senate Bill Would Require Senate Confirmation for the CFPB’s Inspector General

The U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau currently is subject to an Inspector General, appointed by the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, who has jurisdiction over both the CFPB and the FRB. The bill would establish a separate IG for the CFPB who would be appointed by the President subject to confirmation by the Senate.
