Tooba Niaz Hussain

Tooba Hussain is a litigator focused on government investigations and enforcement. She has represented individuals, companies, and financial institutions in white collar criminal and civil investigations, internal investigations, securities litigation, and complex commercial disputes.

Tooba’s representation involves advising clients in relation to allegations of financial fraud, misrepresentation, and corporate misconduct. She has experience condensing large amounts of client data, records, and information into cohesive narratives and researching critical issues impacting negotiations with opposing parties and government regulatory and enforcement agencies.

Her pro bono practice spans various courts and areas including criminal appeals, prisoners’ rights cases, immigration proceedings, landlord-tenant disputes, and commercial disputes involving non-profit organizations. Tooba is also active in the firm’s coverage of legal and business developments impacting clients and its assessment of the use of generative artificial intelligence in promoting client needs.

Prior to joining Dechert, Tooba was an intern in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Columbia. During law school, she was an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal and a member of the Appellate Courts Immersion Clinic where she served as a student attorney in civil rights cases, co-authoring briefs before the Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Seventh Circuits.
