Tara L. Kelly

As assistant general counsel, Tara L. Kelly works closely with Dechert’s general counsel and the firm’s attorneys and personnel to create and implement risk management and compliance procedures, resolve conflicts of interest, advise on issues involving firm policies and internal controls, handle professional responsibility matters, and draft and negotiate commercial contracts and policies.

Ms. Kelly was previously an associate in the white collar, securities, and complex commercial litigation group. She also has substantial experience in pro bono work, including having represented the Free Library of Philadelphia, an asylum seeker before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, students in school disciplinary proceedings, and the Committee of Seventy as an attorney in Election Court in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia, and she has served as a volunteer mediator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Landlord Tenant Appellate Mediation Program.
