President Trump Issues Executive Order with Major Implications for Administration Rulemaking

On January 30, 2017, the President issued an Executive Order that will likely dramatically restrict agency rulemaking during the current Administration's term and could result in the repeal of a significant number of existing regulations. It appears that the Administration will not seek to apply the Order to the independent regulatory agencies that engage in a large portion of federal financial regulation.
