Dechert Partner and Co-Chair of the International Trade Practice, Miriam Gonzalez, speaks to BBC Radio 4 to discuss the impact of proposed U.S. tariffs on steel. Ms. Gonzalez indicated that internal discussions in the U.S. administration could result in a more nuanced position from the President, but the resignation of Gary Cohen negatively impacted the likelihood of a change of direction. Ms. Gonzalez also commented on the impact to the global steel market, particularly the excess supply likely to be redirected from the United States.
