Dissecting the SEC’s Standard of Conduct
Fund Directions has published an article, titled “Dissecting the SEC’s Standard of Conduct,” which reported on the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) newly proposed standard of conduct for investment professionals. It also elaborated on how the standard could affect broker-dealers as well as investment advisers.
Dechert associate Christine Ayako Schleppegrell was quoted in the article as discussing ramifications for the fund community. “Mutual fund complexes and their boards will likely focus on how the proposals will impact ongoing product development efforts,” she said. Ms. Schleppegrell added, “Mutual fund complexes may assess their touch points for contact with retail investors and how the proposals will impact their distribution models.”
