Two Corporate Partners Join Dechert in New York
Dechert LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that Jeff Norton and Gareth Clark will join the firm as corporate partners in the New York office. Norton is the former leader of Linklaters’ U.S. banking team and focuses his practice on acquisition finance, restructurings and liability management transactions. Clark previously served in the corporate group at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and focuses his practice on private equity and M&A transactions.

Norton has more than 30 years of experience leading complex domestic and cross-border financing transactions for financial institution, financial sponsor and corporate clients. Chambers Global 2017 notes “his wealth of experience in both domestic and cross-border financings.” His practice focuses primarily on acquisition finance including syndicated senior and junior debt, bridge loan financings and high yield issuances in the U.S., Europe and Asia. He also advises clients on restructurings, liability management transactions and general finance matters. A graduate of Cornell University (J.D., 1985), Norton is admitted in New York.
Clark represents large and middle market buyout funds on a full range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, carve-out transactions, going-private transactions, leveraged buyouts, divestitures, growth capital investments, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and other investments throughout a company’s capital structure. He also advises his clients in connection with corporate governance, liquidity events, and management equity. A graduate of Monash University (LLB, 2004 / B. Comm., 2004), Clark is admitted in New York and Victoria.
