For our inaugural event, the GMEA hosted American singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and recording artist Zeshan B. His hit single “Cryin in the Streets” – a reinterpretation of George Perkins' 1970 classic civil rights anthem – garnered praise both for its musical finesse as well as its relevance in America's current socio-political climate. Zeshan has made frequent appearances at Lincoln Center, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest Festival, House of Blues, Kennedy Center, and the Canadian National Exhibition.
