Dechert Honored With 2025 Institutional Cornerstone Award
Dechert has been recognized by the Lawyers Alliance for New York with a 2025 Institutional Cornerstone Award. The Lawyers Alliance Cornerstone Awards are given annually to individuals and institutions for their exceptional contributions through pro bono legal services to nonprofits in New York. The ceremony was held Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Paramount Skydance Corp.
Dechert’s partnership with Lawyers Alliance began in 1992. Since then, the firm has provided pro bono assistance to 237 nonprofit clients on nearly 300 legal matters, including 25 new cases in the past year. Attorneys at all levels, from co-chairs to junior associates, have dedicated their expertise and time in meaningful ways on Lawyers Alliance matters.
Clients frequently praise Dechert’s responsiveness and impact. One notable example is the firm’s involvement in the Grand Street Settlement which enabled expansion of Early Head Start and Head Start programs; Dechert reviewed bylaws and negotiated leases alongside a multi-service agency on the Lower East Side.
Dechert lawyers also helped to negotiate key agreements that strengthened employer offerings and simplified future partnerships through work with Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners, a leader in financial empowerment services for low-income individuals.
