Global finance partner Matthew Fischer has been appointed co-leader of Dechert’s commercial mortgage-backed securities group. Mr. Fischer will join the CMBS group’s current leader, Stewart McQueen.
Dechert’s commercial mortgage-backed securities team provides best-in-class service across all asset categories and securitization technologies, including CMBS and CRE CLOs, warehouse facilities, cash and synthetic transactions and on the purchase and sale of pools of loans and other financial assets. The firm’s CMBS and origination teams work seamlessly together on a wide range of financial instruments, including whole mortgage loans, senior, subordinate and pari passu notes and participations, mezzanine loans, preferred equity, syndicated loans, commercial mortgage-backed securities and commercial real estate collateralized debt obligations.

Mr. Fischer focuses his practice on real estate, structured finance and securitization matters. He represents issuers, underwriters, servicers, mortgage loan sellers, operating advisors and investors in public and private mortgage-backed securitizations. He assists financial institutions in establishing servicing and lending facilities for mortgage loans, advises on non-performing real estate debt obligations and structured products, and has experience in loan origination and preferred equity transactions. Recognized by industry publications such as The Legal 500 (U.S.), Mr. Fischer was recently named to the CRE Finance Council’s 2023 class of distinguished 20 under 40 professionals for his positive impact on the commercial real estate industry.
