Brian Kulp

Brian Kulp is an associate in Dechert’s Appellate and Regulatory Litigation group. He focuses his practice on high-stakes litigation, with particular emphasis on complex commercial matters. Mr. Kulp has represented clients at every level of the federal judiciary, as well as before federal agencies and state courts. He has drafted merits briefs before the U.S. Supreme Court in three cases. He has drafted multiple successful cert petitions and has helped his clients secure victories in many important appellate and trial-level matters. Mr. Kulp has litigated and advised clients on a wide range of matters involving administrative law, religious liberty, the separation of powers, antitrust law, constitutional law, contracts, torts, civil procedure, class actions, sentencing law, the Alien Tort Statute, the Dodd-Frank Act, the False Claims Act, the Anti-Injunction Act, Section 1983 and more.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kulp clerked for the Honorable Kevin C. Newsom of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Honorable Joan L. Larsen of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He also externed for the Honorable Dabney L. Friedrich of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

Mr. Kulp is a Philadelphia-area native, passionate Philadelphia sports fan and lifelong ice hockey player. He and his wife Katie have three kids and share a love of the Ohio State Buckeyes, good food and family adventures.
