Daniel T. Murdock is an associate in Dechert’s Boston office and is a member of the cyber, privacy and AI practice.
Mr. Murdock advises clients across all industry sectors on matters relating to technology and data, including cybersecurity and data breach response, investigations, product development, regulatory compliance, and litigation. He routinely counsels companies in connection with commercial transactions and regarding compliance with the Federal Trade Commission Act (FTC Act); the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA); the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act (CAN-SPAM); the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and similar state data privacy laws.
Mr. Murdock is experienced in providing time-sensitive advice to clients regarding cyber-attacks, including the negotiation of ransom/ransomware, business email interruption/Office 365 attacks, and corporate and nation state espionage. He also counsels companies in the wake of data breaches regarding compliance with applicable notification laws.
In addition, Mr. Murdock has a broad complex commercial litigation practice focusing on data and technology. He also maintains an active pro bono practice in connection with the Innocence Project.
Prior to joining Dechert, Mr. Murdock was an attorney in the Boston office of an international law firm and a law clerk for the Honorable D. Brooks Smith, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
