John W. Schuch is a partner in Dechert’s employee benefits and executive compensation group, focusing his practice on ERISA’s fiduciary and prohibited transaction rules as applied to the provision of financial products and services to employee benefit plans. Having worked in-house as senior legal counsel for over 16 years at two of America’s largest financial institutions, Mr. Schuch has extensive experience advising senior legal and business executives and management teams with respect to such ERISA and related rules.

Mr. Schuch provides advice particularly on ERISA and Internal Revenue Code issues, including Title I of ERISA, DOL’s “plan asset” regulation and prohibited transaction rules under the Code with respect to asset managers, investment advisers, banks, broker-dealers and other financial intermediaries.

He has had global responsibility to provide such advice across multiple product areas, including asset management, institutional broker-dealer, investment banking and corporate/treasury divisions.

Prior to joining Dechert and working in-house, Mr. Schuch was an associate at two major international law firms.
