Nik Sharma

Nik Sharma is an associate in Dechert’s securities and complex litigation practice. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation and white collar matters, and has experience advising clients on internal and regulatory investigations.

Mr. Sharma also advises clients across a wide range of sectors on UK and EU financial and trade sanctions matters. His work includes preparing applications for sanctions licenses and advising on potential sanctions risks arising from transactions.

Mr. Sharma trained at Dechert and qualified in 2025.

  • A major financial institution in connection with defending a US$870 million civil fraud claim in the Commercial Court.
  • Various Lebanese banks in connection with defending claims brought by customers following the Lebanese banking crisis.
  • A leading food and beverage manufacturer in connection with sanctions-related matters, including licence applications to various European sanctions authorities.

  • Kids in Need of Defence UK – Assisted children in obtaining British citizenship through legal representation and application support.
  •  Windrush Compensation Scheme – Participated in a research project examining the value of legal advice for claimants applying to the Windrush Compensation Scheme, resulting in a co-authored report with JUSTICE and the University of Sussex.
  • University House Legal Advice Centre – Provided legal advice to individuals appealing welfare benefit decisions before the First-tier Tribunal.
