Dechert Named One of the 2020 Best Workplaces for Parents by Great Place to Work
Great Place to Work® has honored Dechert LLP as one of the 100 businesses on its 2020 Best Workplaces for Parents list. This annual program highlights organizations, from all industries across the United States, who have demonstrated a commitment to create consistently positive experiences for working parents.
“This has been a particularly challenging year for working parents, and we’re proud that people across the Dechert community have made a concerted effort to support them,” said Alison Bernard, Chief Talent and Human Resource Officer at Dechert. “With work, school, and home all colliding, managing time and stress has been more important than ever, and we’ve worked to give people new resources and tools to help.”
During 2020, Dechert introduced a series of new programs geared toward parents, including sessions with a parenting coach, many new training opportunities – such as sessions focused on managing stress during times of exponential change – and new community discussion boards that allow our parents to ask one another questions and share ideas. The firm also launched “The Young and the Restless,” a weekly children’s storytime series. Our CEO Henry Nassau kicked off our inaugural session by reading “Old Henry” to Dechert children across the globe.
These programs complemented Dechert’s ongoing support for working parents, which includes gender-neutral family leave policies, with coaching for employees before and after parental leave, along with myriad additional family, health and well-being offerings.
Employees reported their workplace experience using the industry-leading Trust Index© survey, which quantifies more than 75 metrics of company culture, including levels of trust, pride, management effectiveness, innovation, diversity and equity. Great Place to Work selected the Best Workplaces for Parents from this dataset, as well as a review of each company’s parental leave, adoption, flexible schedule, childcare and dependent health care benefits.
