Global Restructuring Review Names Dechert as One of World’s Top Five Legal Advisers for Cross-Border Restructuring

November 19, 2021

In its 2021 annual ranking of the world’s leading law firms for cross-border restructuring and insolvency matters, the Global Restructuring Review (GRR), ranked Dechert LLP as one of the top five law firms in the world. GRR based its rankings on a qualitative and quantitative analysis of law firms’ roles in the largest international restructurings. In ranking firms, GRR analyzed the size, complexity, and the importance of the roles in the matters handled by law firms. Representing major parties in interest in the largest cross-border matters, Dechert placed fourth.

Dechert has been investing heavily in its global restructuring practice and the firm’s recent hires demonstrate an ongoing commitment to expand the group's capabilities as a strategic growth priority. In Spring 2020, Dechert expanded its restructuring practice with the addition of partners Solomon Noh and Alastair Goldrein in London. In March 2021, partner Adam Plainer joined as global co-chair of the group, significantly bolstering the London and global practice, shortly followed by partner Kay Morley in London. Dechert also launched a financial restructuring practice in Asia in October 2021 with the appointment of partner Daniel Margulies in Hong Kong.

Dechert’s Financial Restructuring practice represents a wide range of high-profile clients, on both the creditor and debtor side, in the full spectrum of complex cross-border restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency matters and is recognized as a top law firm by a number of publications including Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500 and IFLR.
