Financial Times Recognizes Dechert Lawyers for Innovation in Asia-Pacific

May 14, 2021

Dechert lawyers have been recognized once again for their creativity and capacity to bring about change in the Financial Times’ Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers Awards. This year, firms were assessed on innovation in the practice of law, on their willingness to embrace new technology, and on their response to critical trends in the legal profession.

As a firm, Dechert was ranked by the FT as the 11th most innovative international law firm in Asia.

In the “Practice of law - liquidity & finance” category, a corporate team led by partner Maria Tan Pedersen and associate Andrew Singer was recognized for its work on the US$253 million initial public offering and listing of Philippine real estate investment trust AREIT, Inc. The transaction, the first REIT listing in the Philippines, established an entirely new market in the Philippines. Maria Tan Pedersen was personally commended for her role.

Dechert’s digital maturity was also evidenced as the firm was ranked 10th among international firms in Asia for its willingness to embrace the power of data and new technology.

Law firms and lawyers recognized by the FT were honored in a ceremony held online on May 13.
