Global Investigations Review Honors Maria Sit as a Leading Woman in Investigations
Hong Kong-based partner Maria Sit, the Asia head and global co-leader of Dechert LLP’s White Collar, Compliance and Investigations practice, has been named to Global Investigations Review’s Women in Investigations 2021 list.
GIR assembled a list of the 100 most remarkable women in the field of white-collar law and investigations after conducting a global survey of private practice, government agencies and in-house legal teams.
GIR carries out the survey just once every three years. Dechert white collar lawyers were also named to the 2018 and 2015 lists.
Earlier, Ms. Sit, a former in-house counsel at the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, was “Highly Commended” in the Financial Times’ Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers Awards in 2020 for achieving full recovery within four days on behalf of a client that had been victim to a complex global wire fraud. The feat was described by a Hong Kong judge as “exceptionally rare.”
Ms. Sit was also a finalist for “Best in Financial Services Regulatory” in Euromoney’s Asia-Pacific Women in Business Law Awards in 2020.
