The Legal Intelligencer Honors Michael McGinley in its Professional Excellence Awards
Dechert LLP partner Michael McGinley has been named a “Lawyer on the Fast Track” by The Legal Intelligencer in its Professional Excellence Awards for 2021.
Mr. McGinley is a first-chair litigator who joined Dechert in April 2018 after serving in the White House as Associate Counsel and Special Assistant to the President. In the White House Counsel’s Office, his primary responsibilities included legal review of major legislative and regulatory actions and the confirmation of judicial nominees, including the appointment of Justice Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
At Dechert, Mr. McGinley has quickly established a reputation for high performance in appellate and complex litigation. He has represented clients at every level of the federal judiciary, as well as in numerous federal agencies and state courts, and has litigated an extremely broad range of issues.
Mr. McGinley was elected to the American Law Institute in 2019 and was honored by the Philadelphia Business Journal in its Best of the Bar Awards in 2020. He currently serves as the Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Administrative Rulemaking. He is also a presidentially appointed member of the Council of the Administrative Conference of the United States.
Mr. McGinley previously served as a law clerk to Justice Samuel A. Alito, Jr., on the Supreme Court of the United States and to then-Judge Neil M. Gorsuch, on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Lawyers on the Fast Track honorees will be recognized on June 24 in an awards ceremony in Philadelphia.
