Real Deals Honors Dechert as Legal Adviser of the Year for European Private Equity
Dechert LLP’s private equity practice has been named “Pan-European Legal Adviser of the Year” by Real Deals in its Private Equity Awards for 2021. Now in their 20th year, the awards are judged by a panel of industry leaders and recognize outstanding work by top-performing lenders and advisers.
Real Deals bestows the “Pan-European Legal Adviser of the Year” award on a single firm able to demonstrate how it has differentiated its offer and delivered value to clients through outstanding execution, commercial awareness and the capacity of its team to find creative solutions to problems.
In recent months, Dechert has expanded its private equity practice in Europe with the addition of Dominik Stühler in Munich, in addition to Mark Thompson and Sam Whittaker in the London office. The firm now has a team of more than 100 private equity lawyers in offices across Europe, including in London, Paris, Dublin, Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich and Luxembourg.
As a result, Dechert is well-positioned to advise private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on the most significant transactions in the industry. In the past year, Dechert’s European private equity team has advised clients on deals valued at more than US$100 billion.
In addition, the firm maintains a fund formation practice comprising more than 250 lawyers globally, one of the largest teams of lawyers advising investment managers in any law firm. Dechert remains the only major global law firm with a funds practice in all key European fund jurisdictions, as well as throughout the United States, the Middle East and Asia.
Winners in this year’s Private Equity Awards were announced at a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on September 10.
