Financial Times Recognizes Dechert for Innovation in Asia-Pacific

Dechert has been recognized once again for creativity and capacity to bring about change in the Financial Times’ Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyers Awards, which assesses firms on innovation in the practice of law and on their response to critical trends in the legal profession.

In the FT Innovative Lawyers Asia-Pacific 2022 report, Dechert was recognized in the “Innovation in Enabling Business Growth” category for advising on the delisting and deauthorization of New Century REIT. Hong Kong corporate partner Stephen Chan, who oversaw the establishment and listing of New Century as Hong Kong’s first-ever REIT in 2013, led the Dechert team on the innovative transaction, which created a template for the privatization of real estate investment trusts in Hong Kong.

Law firms and lawyers recognized by the Financial Times were honored in an online ceremony on May 12.
