Dechert Ranked in the “Global Elite” by the Global Competition Review
We are pleased to announce Dechert's antitrust/competition group has been recognized for the 8th straight year in the "Global Elite" rankings of the Global Competition Review (GCR) 100 2024 guide which showcases the world's premier antitrust practices. In addition to this global recognition, our Paris team has also entered the Elite ranking for France this year. Led by co-chairs Steven Bizar and Mike Cowie, the group has GCR-ranked teams in four jurisdictions and was praised for the addition of five senior lawyers from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe in London, Washington, DC and San Francisco.
GCR called out notable merger control work including two top five healthcare merger matters – CVS Health’s $8 billion purchase of Signify Health, which was reviewed in-depth by the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and CVS Health’s acquisition of primary care network Oak Street Health for $10.6 billion, which drew significant opposition from US senator Elizabeth Warren. Away from mergers, Dechert was praised for advising Apple on its appeal of a €1.1 billion fine issued by France’s Competition Authority for colluding to allocate customers and fix retail prices and helping Roche overturn allegations by the French enforcer that the drugmaker and rival Novartis abused their collective dominance in the ophthalmic sector.
