National Legal Aid & Defender Association Honors Dechert Once Again for Pro Bono Achievements

Dechert LLP has once again been recognized for its outstanding pro bono efforts by The National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) in its Beacon of Justice Awards 2023, which were established to recognize law firms for extraordinary pro bono achievements.

This year, the NLADA highlighted firms for their commitment to addressing issues related to LGBTQ+ rights and gender-based equity issues that intersect with racial equity.

Dechert remains committed to pro bono work and advancing equity and justice for all. At any given time, the firm had 1,500+ active pro bono matters ongoing, including 700 new matters.

A significant proportion of Dechert’s pro bono efforts in 2022 were focused on issues surrounding LGBTQ+, gender, and racial justice. Throughout the year, members of the Dechert community have been working hard to achieve positive resolutions in relation to LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive rights, assisting with legally binding transgender name changes, launching new name and gender change clinics in New York and Washington, D.C. and continuing the firm’s two-decade commitment to protecting the right to vote.
