Neil Steiner to Be Honored as a Democracy Defender at 2023 Common Cause New York Awards Reception
On April 27, Common Cause will honor Dechert’s Neil Steiner with the Common Cause Champion of Democracy Award, for his dedicated efforts to preserve voting rights and help Common Cause New York fight for democratic values.
According to Common Cause New York’s Executive Director, Susan Lerner, “Mr. Steiner has helped to strengthen our democracy by representing Common Cause/NY in three separate successful lawsuits in state and federal courts involving redistricting and election law. He is without doubt a critical asset to Common Cause New York and our work would simply would not be possible without his dedication to our cause.”
Common Cause New York will also be honoring Rosemonde Pierre-Louis, Executive Director of NYU McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research and a leading voice advocating for and educating on ranked choice voting in New York.
