The Washington Bar Association Names Vincent Cohen an Ollie May Cooper Award Honoree

Dechert global managing partner Vincent H. Cohen, Jr. has been honored with the Washington Bar Association’s Ollie May Cooper award, which is bestowed on lawyers in recognition of outstanding service, leadership and efforts to enhance the image of the legal community at large.

The award, which was established in 1978, is named in honor of the late Ollie May Cooper, the first Black woman to be admitted by examination to the District of Columbia bar.

Mr. Cohen is a member of the leadership team at Dechert responsible for setting strategic priorities and driving the firm’s focus on client service, innovation and diversity and inclusion. He is also a member of the Policy Committee, which consists of 14 elected partners who oversee management of the firm worldwide.

Mr. Cohen, who serves as regional chair of the U.S. white collar practice at Dechert, focuses his own practice on high-stakes litigation on behalf of individuals and corporations. An experienced trial lawyer and investigator, he represents clients in sensitive government and internal investigations, government enforcement matters, and complex civil and criminal litigation on a domestic and international scale.

Recognized as a leading attorney in white collar and government investigations by Chambers USA, The Legal 500 and Lawdragon, he was recently named to Savoy’s “Most Influential Lawyers” list for 2024, recognized by Forbes in its inaugural list of the Top 200 Lawyers in the United States, and has been consistently honored as one of Washington, DC’s Best Lawyers by Washingtonian.
