Dechert LLP’s Chief Executive Officer Daniel O’Donnell has been named a recipient of a “Lifetime Achievement Award” in Pennsylvania by The Legal Intelligencer.
The “Lifetime Achievement Award” seeks to recognize attorneys whose influence and presence have shaped the law in Pennsylvania, and recognizes influential attorneys whether their work is on the bench, in legal services, or in any other means. O’Donnell will receive the award on Tuesday, June 21 at the Crystal Team Room in Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Bar Association also recently honored O’Donnell for his contributions to the Philadelphia community. O’Donnell was recognized with the Dennis H. Replansky Memorial Award, which is given to an individual who exhibits superior talent in business law, contributes to the business law community in the Philadelphia area, and is known for their extensive civic and charitable contributions to the area.
O'Donnell is a nationally recognized advisor to private equity fund sponsors, corporations and financial institutions as well as company management teams, boards of directors and special committees. He represents clients on public and private mergers and acquisitions – both domestically and internationally – as well as corporate restructurings and corporate governance matters.
A prominent figure in the legal community, O’Donnell has made extensive contributions towards the business law community in the Philadelphia area. He is a co-founder and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the East River Bank, which provides convenient, community-based modern banking options within the Philadelphia community. Additionally, O’Donnell serves on the Board of Advisors for the Penn Wharton Institute for Law and Economics, which was established to bring together key figures in business, academia and law to analyze the impact of law on the global economy.
O’Donnell, who was elected Chief Executive officer of the firm in 2011, will be transitioning his role to partner Henry Nassau on June 30, 2016.
