Global Arbitration Review Recognizes Dechert’s International Arbitration Group

Dechert LLP’s international arbitration practice has been honored at Global Arbitration Review’s GAR Awards 2018 as “the practice that impressed the most in 2017”.

The publication praised a number of Dechert’s “stellar successes” over the past year, listing important victories scored on behalf of an Asian state in disputes against French aerospace and defense companies and on behalf of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL in countering state misbehavior in Croatia. GAR also pointed to Dechert’s success in helping Ecuador end a decade-old, multi-billion-dollar dispute with Burlington Resources and noted that the firm had won several important new representations from Colombia and Bolivia.

With some 50 lawyers around the world, Dechert’s international arbitration group represents sovereign states and state-owned enterprises, along with private investors, businesses and high-net-worth individuals, in treaty and contract arbitrations around the world.

Winners in all categories of the GAR Awards 2018 were recognized at a ceremony on April 12 in Paris.
