Christina Sarchio Named ‘Woman Worth Watching’ by Profiles in Diversity Journal

June 11, 2018

Dechert LLP litigation partner Christina Guerola Sarchio has been named by Profiles in Diversity Journal as one of the publication’s ‘Women Worth Watching’ in 2018. The series, now in its 17th year, serves to identify, support and promote women in leadership and the organizations that employ them.

Sarchio, who joined Dechert in October 2017, successfully tried more than a dozen cases as a prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office before switching to private practice. She now leads trial teams in state and federal courts across the country and regularly appears before a number of agencies and regulators, including the DOJ, FDA, SEC and various U.S. Attorney offices.

Singled out as a top female litigator by Benchmark Litigation and celebrated as a ‘Rainmaker’ by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, she recently won a four-year battle against class-action consumer-fraud claims for Boiron, the world’s largest homeopathic drug maker, and secured rare judicial protection against further frivolous claims. This year, she also convinced plaintiffs simply to walk away from cases against ExxonMobil and Apple.

Sarchio has long assisted diverse and female lawyers. An energetic supporter of the Military Spouse JD Network, she helped win agreements allowing lawyers married to members of the armed forces to practice law while temporarily resident in more than 30 states. She currently counsels the Women’s National Basketball Players pro bono and has served as president of the DC Hispanic Bar Association and vice-president of the Hispanic National Bar Association.
