Dechert Advises Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe on Sale of AIM Software

June 24, 2019

Dechert LLP acted as primary deal counsel to Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe on the sale process of its portfolio business AIM Software to SimCorp for a total enterprise value of €60 million. The deal is anticipated to close in August 2019, subject to certain conditions.

Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe is a leading U.S. private equity firm focused primarily on the technology and healthcare sectors and has raised over US$25 billion of capital. AIM Software is a global leader in financial data management software with a particular focus on business applications to the buy-side.

SimCorp, the acquirer, is a Danish company that provides integrated investment management solutions to the world’s leading asset managers, fund managers, asset servicers, pension and insurance funds, wealth managers, banks and sovereign wealth funds. Following the completion of the transaction, AIM Software will become fully integrated into SimCorp, and the two firms expect to deliver an even stronger value proposition, cross-selling synergies from their complimentary products and a shared target client base, as well as cost synergies.

The cross-border Dechert team advising on this deal was led by London-based corporate partner Ross Allardice and associates Tony Brown and Daniel Mansfield and financial services partner Jean-Louis Frognet.
