Dechert Advises Ritchie Bros. on Rouse Acquisition
Dechert LLP advised Ritchie Bros., the world’s largest auctioneer and provider of end-to-end services for heavy equipment (NYSE & TSX: RBA), on its acquisition of Rouse Services, a leading provider of data intelligence and benchmarking services. Ritchie Bros. announced that the transaction will enable both companies to expand their product offerings with more robust data, better service, and innovative solutions to help their clients run their businesses more efficiently.
In 2017, Dechert also secured unconditional clearance from the U.S. Department of Justice for Ritchie Bros.’ acquisition of online auctioneer IronPlanet, which facilitated the company’s transformation with brands, innovative digital technology, product offerings in multiple channels, and expanded global reach.
The Dechert antitrust team advising Ritchie Bros. was led by partner James A. Fishkin, along with partner Rani Habash and associate Dennis S. Schmelzer in Washington, D.C., and counsel Beverly Ang in New York.
With dedicated antitrust/competition lawyers in Brussels, Frankfurt, New York, Paris, Philadelphia and Washington D.C., Dechert’s antitrust/competition practice has the global capability to develop creative solutions to the most difficult antitrust issues in merger clearance, litigation and business planning.
