Dechert Celebrates Inaugural Innovation Week
A new client dashboard, an AI-powered document review process and development-focused associate reviews, were among the ideas put forward by Dechert employees during the firm’s inaugural Innovation Week. While Innovation Week events were intended to be held in-person across Dechert’s offices around the world, a number of individuals across teams and offices worked together to adapt several events for remote participation. This successful shift to hold Innovation Week remotely is a testament to Dechert’s culture of creativity and commitment to building community.
Innovation Week was kicked off with a video focused on what innovation looks like at Dechert, including the need to embrace experimentation, which as our CEO Henry Nassau said in the video “comes with great successes and noble failures.” The firm hosted a number of remote events, including a session on creating an innovative mindset with Dr. Srikumar Rao of the Rao Institute, and produced our first Dechert Spark Tank show where akin to popular U.S. television show Shark Tank or the U.K.’s Dragon’s Den, individuals and teams from across the Dechert community pitched new and innovative ideas for implementation at the firm. The participants received valuable feedback from a panel of coaches as part of the process. The innovation that won, picked by popular vote, is a bio page for all employees where they can self-load and populate their page on the firm’s intranet.
Innovation Week is one of several initiatives spearheaded by Dechert’s Talent team; others include Wellbeing Week and Diversity Week. During Wellbeing Week, held in January, the firm launched a new THRIVE life strategies program, hosted an eight week steps challenge and compiled a collection of healthy recipes, among a number of other initiatives and programs. Diversity Week will be held this summer.
