Dechert Advises Amanat Holdings on Acquisition of Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center

March 03, 2021

Dechert LLP advised leading investment firm Amanat Holdings on its acquisition, and related financing, of Cambridge Medical Rehabilitation Center ("CMRC") for a purchase price of US$232 million. The transaction represents Amanat’s first wholly owned investment into the healthcare industry in the UAE, and one of the largest healthcare transactions in the region in recent times.

Amanat, a top investment firm listed on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), maintains an established portfolio of high quality healthcare and education companies, marked by their competitive sustainability and distinct offerings.

Acquired from sellers, among others, TVM Capital Healthcare, CMRC operates in the UAE and Saudi Arabia and specializes in dedicated medical care and rehabilitation services to patients requiring short-term comprehensive rehabilitation and long-term care for patients with chronic illness or injury.

The corporate Dechert team acting for Amanat included partner Philip Dowsett and associate Katrina Morrison, who advised on the transaction, with support from partner Daniel Hawthorne and associate Nicolas Kokkinos who advised on tax, and partner Chris Sioufi and national partner Rodolphe Pellerin, who advised on the acquisition financing.
