Dechert LLP’s market-leading Middle East and North Africa region (MENA) capital markets practice  has advised the Government of the Sultanate of Oman (acting through the Ministry of Finance) and Oman Sovereign Sukuk SAOC on the issuance of US$1.75 billion Trust Certificates due 2030, as well as on the update of its Trust Certificate Programme. The transaction closed on 15 June 2021 and follows Dechert’s representation of Oman on its previous bond issuances in 2020 and 2021.

The core Dechert team advising Oman included partners Patrick Lyons and Jennifer Rees, with support from associates Nick Quarrie and Kerenza Kerslake.

Dechert has a strong track record advising on innovative capital markets transactions in the emerging markets, and is a leading practice in the representation of sovereigns from the MENA region. This transaction follows a number of significant sovereign issuances in the region, including those for Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Oman.
