Dechert Establishes Scholarship to Honor Retired Partner Robert W. Helm
NEW YORK – Dechert LLP announced today that a number of Dechert partners have established the Robert W. Helm Term Scholarship Supported by Dechert LLP to award Accessing Careers in Engineering and Science (ACES) scholarships to underserved students at Stevens Institute of Technology, a private research university located in Hoboken, New Jersey. This fund honors Robert W. Helm upon his retirement for his distinguished service to Dechert LLP and leadership of the Firm’s global financial services practice.
Through ACES, Stevens aims to offer more opportunities to undergraduate students from communities that are under-resourced, underserved, or underrepresented in STEM fields. Its goal is to significantly increase the numbers of students who benefit from a Stevens education by providing scholarship support; academic and other types of counseling; peer mentoring; networking; co-operative education and internships; and other services designed to help students overcome barriers to their future in STEM. This scholarship will provide tuition assistance for two students for five years.
