Dechert is pleased to announce that litigation partner Vincent H. Cohen, Jr. has been unanimously appointed to the District of Columbia Judicial Nominations Commission (JNC) by the D.C. Bar Board of Governors for a term of six years.

The mission of the JNC is to recommend to the President panels of highly qualified individuals to fill judicial vacancies to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, and to select the chief judges of each of these courts.
Mr. Cohen, a white collar lawyer, focuses his practice on high-stakes litigation on behalf of individuals and corporations. He is also a member of the firm’s Policy Committee, which consists of elected partners who oversee management of the firm worldwide. Mr. Cohen is the former acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. Prior to leading the largest U.S. Attorney’s Office in the nation, Mr. Cohen served as the Office’s Principal Assistant United States Attorney for five years.
