Dechert Advises EFG Hermes on the IPO of Macro Group Pharmaceutical

Dechert advised EFG Hermes as sole global coordinator and EFG Hermes and Renaissance Capital as joint bookrunners on the EGP1.3 billion IPO of Macro Group Pharmaceuticals (Macro Group), one of the largest Egyptian cosmeceuticals companies. The IPO marks the first listing of a cosmeceuticals company in Egypt and comprised an international offering, by means of a private placement to qualified institutional investors in several countries, including Egypt, and a retail offering in Egypt. Both the international offering and Egyptian retail offering were oversubscribed.
A key example of Dechert’s cross-practice work between the firm’s market-leading life sciences and emerging markets practices, the IPO is a significant success in light of the volatility of the current global market.
