Dechert's Antitrust Group Earns Tenth Consecutive “Global Elite” Ranking by Global Competition Review

December 01, 2025

Dechert's antitrust/competition practice group has once again been recognized in the "Global Elite" rankings of the Global Competition Review (GCR) 100 guide, marking the tenth consecutive year the firm has received this prestigious accolade.

Led by co-chairs Steven Bizar and Mike Cowie, Dechert’s antitrust group boasts GCR-ranked teams in multiple jurisdictions: Washington, DC, Brussels, London, Paris, Pennsylvania and California. GCR highlighted Dechert’s representation of Lexmark in its US$1.5 billion sale to Xerox, coordinating U.S. and European merger control reviews.

Dechert was praised for its representation of Illumina in a European Court of Justice ruling that set a precedent limiting EU merger control for transactions with no EU nexus. Dechert also represents Huhtamaki in cartel damages litigation across Europe following the European Commission’s food packaging cartel decision.

In U.S. litigation, GCR noted Dechert’s major appellate victory for Zillow following Dechert’s defense win following a jury trial. GCR also highlighted Dechert’s success in obtaining a complete dismissal of claims against Delta Dental in nationwide class action litigation.
