Dechert Continues to Demonstrate Its Strength Advising on Sovereign Issuances with a Trio of Significant Transactions in Q1 2025 for Albania, Egypt and Sharjah
Dechert LLP’s market-leading international capital markets practice recently added to its strong track record advising on sovereign Eurobond transactions with the completion of three significant transactions for Albania, Egypt and Sharjah.
Dechert, a long-time adviser to the sovereign, advised the Arab Republic of Egypt on its dual-tranche offering of its US$1.25 billion 8.625% Notes due 2030 and US$750 million 9.450% Notes due 2033 under its Global Medium Term Note Programme, which closed on 4 February 2025. The transaction marked Egypt’s first U.S. Dollar-denominated bond transaction since 2021 (on which Dechert also advised).
Dechert also advised the Republic of Albania, acting through its Ministry of Finance, on the issuance of its €650 million 4.750% Notes due 2035, which closed on 14 February 2025. This issuance, Albania’s largest ever transaction, followed Dechert’s previous representations of the Republic on all of its international Eurobond transactions since 2015.
Completing the trio of sovereign issuances, Dechert also advised the Dealers and Joint Lead Managers in connection with the issuance of €500 million 4.625% Notes due 2032 by the Government of the Emirate of Sharjah; a transaction which closed on 13 February 2025.
Each of the three transactions was significantly over-subscribed.
