Dechert Announces New Additions to its Intellectual Property and Financial Restructuring Leadership Teams
Dechert has announced several practice group leadership changes. Intellectual property litigation partner Katherine A. Helm, Ph.D., will join Andrea L.C. Reid as co-chair of the firm’s global intellectual property practice, with partner Stephen D. Zide joining Allan Brilliant as co-chair of the financial restructuring group.
“Dechert is committed to helping the innovators who move industries forward advance every aspect of their businesses,” said Mark Thierfelder, co-chair of Dechert. “Intellectual property and financial restructuring are both areas in which we deliver critical support to our clients, and we’re grateful to Kassie and Stephen for stepping up to help lead these important practices.”
Dr. Helm is a first-chair lead counsel who represents top innovator pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in patent litigation and patent-adjacent litigation matters. She leverages her doctorate in neuroscience and legal acumen to develop and execute winning positions for life sciences companies in patent litigation, including district court litigation, Federal Circuit and other circuit court appeals, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).
Mr. Zide represents a diverse range of clients in Chapter 11 bankruptcy and out-of-court restructuring matters. He has led numerous high-profile restructurings across a number of industries over the last twenty years. His clients include both official and ad hoc creditor and equity committees, debtors, bondholders, investors and secured lenders.
“These changes, together with the recent addition of Chris Christian and Doug Dick to join Gus Black as co-chairs of our financial services group, position us with a strong group of practice group leaders to help move the firm forward,” said David Forti, co-chair of Dechert.
