'Disturbed' and 'disappointed' Pompeo slams EU plan to bypass Iran sanctions

Dechert Senior Director, Roger Matthews, speaks to CNBC following U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's response to the EU's decision to create a special purpose vehicle (SPV) to avoid sanctions against Iran. Mr Matthews suggests that the U.S. could retaliate by adjusting the scope of its sanctions to include the SPV.
Mr. Matthews has extensive international and EU sanctions experience, and currently advises a range of large multinational companies on both ensuring sanctions compliance and on specific strategic and contentious issues.
