The China International Commercial Court (CICC): A New Chapter for Resolving International Commercial Disputes in China

Dechert attorneys have contributed to the October edition of Dispute Resolution International, the journal of the IBA's Dispute Resolution Section. It provides in-depth discussion of current developments and topical issues in all areas of dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, mediation and other areas of alternative dispute resolution, as well as negligence and damages. Dechert’s chapter will first discuss the background of the CICC’s establishment,followed by demonstrating the distinctive features of the CICC by comparingit with other international commercial courts and with the prevailing legaland judicial practices in China, and finally conclude with the authors’comments on the prospects of and existing issues with the CICC.
